Governor Brad Little issued a thank you letter to the members of his Salmon Workgroup on June 28th, 2021. In his letter, he acknowledged their time, dedication and effort to the cause. These efforts led to the conclusion of the workgroup and its 29 policy recommendations. Governor Little will move forward with all 29 of these recommendations, which he wrote will help move Idaho closer to meeting its goal to have “healthy and abundant stocks of salmon and steelhead.”
These species are important to the state of Idaho because they increase opportunity in the state as well as the broader Columbia Basin, which is imperative for present and future generations. Governor Little writes that meaningful recommendations like those from the Salmon Workgroup put Idaho in a better position to advocate and implement change as well as show how Idaho is a leader in collaborative conservation efforts.
